International youth exchange

15-25 August 2011, Sandanski, Bulgaria

In August 2011, in a period of 10 days 24 young people from Macedonia, Germany and Bulgaria will work together in Sandanski (Bulgaria), in order to become well acquainted with the route “Iron Curtain Trail” in the length of the border on Bulgaria and Macedonia and to learn more about the historical events, related to this route.

This youth exchange „Let’s study the History” – international Youth on the Route “Iron Curtain Trail” will facilitate the young participants to find out the European history and its importance about the development of the European Union. The young people will have the opportunity to discuss new  ideas about joint activities and youth initiatives, which could contribute to the development and the promotion of the route “Iron Curtain Trail”. All these activities will result in a positive effect for the regional development at European level.  The discussion meetings will be carried out through informal education methods. Through common technical, practical, sport, cultural and social activities it will be created and strengthen an atmosphere of tolerance, respect and feeling of mutual affiliation to the European society and value. The learning process will be implemented purposeful and flexible.

In this project there will be facilitated and created contacts between young people from 3 different countries, who will be joined through the initiative “Iron Curtain Trail”. The topics included in the programme of the youth exchange will reflect to the daily forming of the awareness and the mobilisation of the youth for the global challenges as future development, climate changes, migration and the European development with joint efforts.

The young people will gain additional experience and new skills, in an informal way which is defferent from the school methods. This will reflect to the impovement of their language skills and this will reflect very positive to their every day contacts and communication.

The project results will be disseminated in all the possible ways and they will be follow up through  other new projects.
