Project: BIOBRAND “Development of a common branding scheme for the promotion of organic local products of the cross-border region Bio-Brand. (Greece - Bulgaria)" under the Operational Programme Greece - Bulgaria 2007 - 2013.

Operational Programme "Greece-Bulgaria 2007-2013", which is part of the program "European Territorial Cooperation", is the first to address the Greek-Bulgarian border area as an internal EU border as a result of the accession of Bulgaria to the EU in January 2007. The Programme is cofinanced by the European Union (ERDF) and national funds of Greece and Bulgaria.

Administrative-territorial division of the area of Operational Programme Greece-Bulgaria

The project objectives are to support entrepreneurship, promotion of innovations and enhancing the competitiveness of small manufacturers and companies in the sector of organic production in the border zone. This will be achieved through the transfer of know-how among organic producers and companies to improve their capacity to trade internationally, restructuring their business methods and more effective promotion of their products.

Project activities:

  • Information newsletters and reports to stakeholders;
  • Organization of info days;
  • Organization of an International Congress;
  • Development of Virtual Knowledge Exchange environment;
  • Promotion of regional organic products through European Associations
  • Training of producers through field visits;
  • Organization of targeted workshops;
  • Organization of two Partenariats to boost business cross border cooperation and attract third countries stakeholders;
  • E-partenariat with the use of the Virtual Knowledge Exchange Environment.

The project partners will make available to the public and all stakeholders the results of its implementation. Furthermore, they are committed to actively participate in all activities organized for full dissemination of project results.
