SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED CROSS BORDER FORUM AND EXHIBITION OF LOCAL ORGANIC PRODUCTS

Association "Savremie" was organizer and host of CROSS BORDER FORUM FOR JOINT PROMOTION OF ORGANIC FARMING AND EXHIBITIONS OF LOCAL ORGANIC PRODUCTS (Bulgaria - Macedonia) on the 21st and 22 November 2014,”Park hotel Pirin", Sandanski. The event was held in the framework of project: “ENABLING ORGANIC PRODUCTION IN THE CROSS BORDER REGION”, Which is implemented with the financial support of the European Union through the Cross Border Cooperation Programme under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) Bulgaria - Macedonia "2007-2013 CCI Number: 2007CB16IPO007.
The aim of the event is to encourage the promotion of organic farming and to improve the cross border cooperation between all entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the field of organic farming from Bulgaria and Macedonia.
The cross border forum was opened on 21.11 at 14:30 with presentation of the project and its objectives, followed by individual presentations of the participants, where all producers, traders and distributors presented their organic products and promotional materials. More than 30 companies and manufacturers took part in the forum, of which 13 were Macedonian, and 17 were Bulgarian.
On the second day of the cross border forum was held open to the public exhibition of organic products, followed by intensive bilateral business meetings aimed at not only the exchange of ideas and experiences, but also the development of new commercial cooperations.
The cross border business meetings were intended to facilitate and improve the cooperation between entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the field of organic production from Bulgaria and Macedonia.
From the Bulgarian side the following companies and bio producers presented their organic products and materials:
- Farm "Bio Ema" - producer of organic red worm fertilizer;
- Organic Farm "Paradise nook" - producer of organic red worm fertilizer- breeding material, organic fertilizer and material to smooth a farm;
- Farmer Milcho Velikov - producer of apples - in transition to organic production;
- Company "AISA Balkan" Ltd. - trading with range of certified organic products for plant protection, organic fertilizers and cleaning products and additives for food industry;
- Company "Stefina" Ltd. - manufacturer of certified Pirinski tea (SIDERITIS SCARDICA);
- Company "Melnishka Laska" Ltd. - producer of wine in process of certification;
- Company "AMITITSA" Ltd. - trading with range of certified organic plant protection products; owner of certified organic farm for production of vegetables and other crops; owner of bio hotel;
- Company "Bioagrofuds 2000" Ltd. - manufacturer of certified organic wine under the brand "Orbelus»;
- Company "Interkrop" Ltd. - manufacture and trade with professional bio seeds, range products for biological control and organic fertilizers.
Companies and manufacturers from Macedonia, who presented at the exhibition their organic products and materials:
- Manufacturer Krste Stajkovtsi – owner of certified farm, producer of organic kiwi, squash, carrots and organic honey;
- Company "Taurus Farms" - owner of a certified farm for cultivation of apple trees and production of organic apple juice;
- Farmer Kostadin Kostadinov – owner of certified organic family farm for cultivation of kiwi, hazelnuts, walnuts and peanuts;
- Farmer Gyurga Traykova - owner of certified organic family farm for cultivation of kiwi and planting material of kiwi and chokeberry;
- Company “Agricom” – distributor of organic fertilizers and plant protection products.
